Interview with the Times of India

Earlier this year, I was invited to India to present a paper at an international conference on “The Spiritual Challenge in Management.” During the conference, I was interviewed by the Times of India (the country’s most widely read English language newspaper). I was questioned on everything from globalization issues to essential leadership qualities and I took the opportunity to express my views on several subjects I am passionate about.

In response to the question, “How can capitalism be conscious?” I responded, “Businesses don’t make decisions, people do.” Sometimes business executives are conscious and concerned about the impact their decisions have on stakeholders and society, too often they are not. We need to show the latter group how irresponsible decisions not only harm others but inevitably come back to harm those they seek to protect. Please click on the Times of India to read the interview and let me know what you think.
